Inspiration from: Picture This

"It's more fun when you take a closer look," is the subtitle of the blog, "Picture This," and the author/artist couldn't have said it any better. I'm sure we have all enjoyed seeing something more in a water stain, wood grain or pattern, but Tineke Meirink actually visualizes some of the amazing things she sees:

She posts a picture of what the image is, and then a picture of what she sees. Here are some others:

The ordinary can be surprisingly inspiring. See more of the series at itsjustmorefunwhenyoutakeacloserlook.blogspot.com!

2 Chronicles 20:12

“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” - 2 Chronicles 20:12

When I catch myself worrying, and feeling confused, that's when I know I'm looking at myself instead of God. As a guest pastor shared at my church on Sunday, you could either choose to worry or to worship God. I find that when I look to God, my troubles seem much smaller and manageable, and there is peace. Let's continually submit ourselves and set our eyes on God!

Notebooks Made From Scraps

I was feeling crafty one night, so I collected a bunch of scraps - unused greeting cards, envelopes, pages from old notebooks, various scrap paper - and made some little notebooks!

Hooray for scraps!

James 5:13

If you are having trouble, you should pray. And if you are feeling good, you should sing praises. - James 5:13

Prayer really is the first and best thing to do in difficult situations. Sometimes it's all you can do, which makes prayer that much more powerful. Let's pray, invite others to pray with you and for you, and see how God works and changes lives.

Desire to see God, be fearful of losing Him, and find joy in everything that can lead to Him. If you act in this way, you will always live in great peace.”- St. Theresa of Avila

Hugo - Story Summary

Hugo is a honey badger who disrupts and bullies those around him. If you haven't already, watch this video on the honey badger (warning: includes coarse language and unsightly images):

"The honey badger doesn't care, it just takes what it wants..." hahah my favorite line!

This story was inspired by a conversation I had with my friend Hanna. She suggested a honey badger character, and her psychologist mind really added a new perspective. Thus, Hugo came into existence :)

Hope you are looking forward to the story! I'm pretty excited about it! The full story post will be up by the end of the month!

Romans 12:12

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
- Romans 12:12

I recently realized that when my patience is being tested, it's not enough just to wait. It takes patience AND persistence, by being faithful in prayer and doing what I can. But when the wait becomes discouraging... remember to be joyful because our hope is in God who makes all things work together for our good!

Ecclesiastes 11:4

Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. - Ecclesiastes 11:4

Don't let uncertainty be an excuse for laziness!

"You can’t wait for perfection. You can always wait for the perfect moment, the perfect this, the perfect that. But you really just gotta start doing. And it makes all the difference. Making excuses takes the same time as making progress." - Justin Gignac
